The Breathing Gear System for Exercise Zones

The breathing gear system is a terrific way to think about the exercise zones. The first gear is breathing in and out through the nose at a set cadence to be efficient and not fast. Zone two is inhaling and exhaling through the nose only at a rate that is needed. Gear three and four involve a subtle distinction of either nose to mouth strategy or straight mouth-to-mouth breathing.
