Improving every aspect of life, including work, relationships, energy, and mood, can be achieved by becoming more fit and healthy. However, many people approach exercise and nutrition from a place of self-hate, which leads to punishment and restriction. By shifting to a mindset of self-care and self-love, exercise becomes a form of self-care and nourishment, while diet becomes about balance and nourishing relationships. This approach enables a balanced and sustainable relationship with exercise and nutrition. Rebounding and extreme behaviors are a result of the self-hate model, while orthorexia, an unhealthy obsession with eating perfectly, can also arise. It is important to enter into fitness and nutrition with honesty and a self-care attitude to develop a balanced and enjoyable relationship with these practices. Proper exercise involves finding the appropriate dose for individual goals and abilities, resulting in increased energy and positive outcomes.
Sal Di Stefano wanted to bring a wellness-based approach to people after working in the professional fitness industry since he was 18. His new approach has led to long-term success with his clients as he developed a behavioral-focused approach towards health and fitness.
