Exercise and school exams

Anaerobic eye causes a high rate of waste production, but lactate acts as an acid buffer and can be used as a fuel source. Lactate can be shipped to neighboring muscle fibers, the liver, or the heart to be converted back to glucose. Lactate is a valuable fuel source for exercise and cognition. Pre-exam exercise can increase exam scores, possibly due to elevations in lactate. Any form of exercise is beneficial, but reaching a reasonably high heart rate is likely to be most beneficial. Exercise not only leads to acute improvements in exam performance but also long-term improvements in memory retention. It is important to ensure proper recovery before the exam to maximize performance.
