The insight of this snip is that there is an opportunity cost for every thought. Our minds can only focus on one thought at a time, so we must be mindful of the thoughts we choose. To manage this, we need both a defense and an offense system. The defense system involves avoiding dramatic people and eliminating unnecessary distractions from our lives. However, there will still be times when negative thoughts enter our minds. In these cases, we should anchor the thought by considering the opportunity cost and redirecting our thinking. By being hyper vigilant and recognizing the thinking cost of every thought, we can make better choices and prioritize more fruitful ideas.
