After reading Ryan Holiday's book, Trust Me I'm Lying, I decided to take a break from consuming current events for a month. Instead, I replaced it with reading books. Surprisingly, my life improved in every way. I felt less anxious and realized that most news stories don't actually matter. People often ask how I stay informed without the news, but I believe the news industry has tricked us into thinking it's necessary. In reality, it's just trash information. I may not be good at trivia, but if something important happens, it'll eventually be in a book. Rarely do events make a difference in my day-to-day life.
