The industrialized world is experiencing a loneliness epidemic because we no longer have scheduled time for relationships like we used to in religious institutions. We need to bring back regular social interactions like previous generations had. Social media overuse is a symptom, not the cause, of our lack of regular social interactions. Therefore, it is important to schedule time in our calendars for relationships with friends, family, and significant others. In terms of work, there are two types: reactive work and reflective work. While reactive work is necessary, it is crucial to make time in our schedules for reflective work in order to avoid going in the wrong direction. Scheduling time for thinking and creative work is essential, even if it is just 15 to 20 minutes.
