After a learning session, there is a replay of the motor sequence performed correctly, and an elimination of sequences performed incorrectly. Sitting quietly with eyes closed for a few minutes after skill learning allows the brain to replay the sequence, which is important for the consolidation and accelerated learning of the motor pattern.
