#14: The Paradox of Exercise Selection

Apr 29, 2021

Another solo episode all about what I'm calling the paradox of exercise selection.

Choosing the correct exercises for your goals matters. It matters a lot. But at the same time, getting up and moving and doing ANYTHING matters even more.

If you've over the "movement for the sake of movement" thing and looking to achieve some more specific goals with your training, then this is something you must pay attention to.

In the episode I take you through my thought process as a coach and some things I consider when selecting certain exercises to use in a training program.

First, it's important to know what the options are. Next, we need to know how to evaluate the options. And lastly, we need to correctly execute on the decisions.

I hope this episode helps you to think clearly about how to choose exercises, or at a minimum points you in the right direction to begin asking better questions.

If you’re looking for more guidance or coaching for yourself and you’re not sure where to begin, I’d love to work with you and be your coach to help you achieve whatever fitness goals you have set for yourself. Contact me on Instagram or Twitter to get started.

I would greatly appreciate any comments, questions or feedback. If you could share this with a friend, that would mean the world to me. If you enjoy this podcast, I would be extremely grateful if you subscribed and left a short review on iTunes. It really helps to spread the message and ultimately help more people.
