We have two selves within us: the short term self (ego) AND the long term self (soul). The short term self always wants us to do the fast, easy, lazy, instant gratification choice! We never FEEL like working out, or eating healthy, or forgiving someone. It takes wisdom to know whether what we FEEL is our short term self or our long term self.
