Emma Dunham of www.emmadunham.co.uk is today's guest and has an incredible food photography portfolio. Take one look, and you'll be treated to a mouth-watering extravaganza of colourful, beautifully lit, delectable food! From the most creative combination of portraits and vegetables to cakes, burgers, cocktails and more.
Her first career was in sales and marketing, and her second was photography, which she's been doing professionally for over 15 years.
She says on her website that her images are designed to be a powerful tool for her clients to use and get money in the till.
Not only does she photograph food and the people behind the menus, but she also teaches cafe and restaurant owners how to get the best photos for their businesses to empower them to create content to attract more customers.
It sounds like this savvy businesswoman has found a way to combine food photography with personal branding and coaching.
If you've ever been interested in building a successful food photography business by working with small business operators, this episode is for you!

It sounds really simplistic but my hard work is keeping consistent. If I keep myself consistent, I can then keep a steady flow of leads coming to me. – Emma Dunham

I check for any new iTunes or Google reviews each week, and it's always a buzz to receive these… for several reasons.
Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!
Secondly, iTunes and Google are the biggest search engine for podcasts, and your reviews and ratings help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners mean more interviews and, ultimately, a better show.
When they contact me on LinkedIn, I'm going to put a bold statement of 70-80% of them already know they want to hire me. The price does not come up as the first issue. – Emma Dunham
If you have left a review in the past, thank you! If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes or https://photobizx.com/google, and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show, and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.
Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast and email me your keywords or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.
As I get older, I want to still make money from photography but look at all the different sources and all the different passsive income and recurring income that I can do. – Emma Dunham
Another great way to get a backlink to your site is to send a video testimonial. It doesn't need to be fancy, and your phone will be perfect. Click record and tell me how PhotoBizX has impacted you and your photography business.
There are a lot of podcasts out there — more than any of us have time to listen to.
Although we all have our favourites, it's good to explore some new perspectives occasionally.
Next week I'm helping you do exactly that! I collaborated with six other photography podcasters to create a show called This Business Tip Road Trip. Each podcaster was given 10 minutes to share their best business tip, so in addition to some great ideas, this episode is a great way for you to hear from some voices in the industry that may be new to you and hopefully add some new shows to your queue!
Here's a sneak peek of what you'll be hearing:
If that sounds like a lot, that's because it is! This is a longer-than-normal episode, but I think you'll find that it's jam-packed with knowledge bombs from some of the best in the industry.
Whether you have a long road trip ahead of you or take a few days to absorb everything this episode has to offer; I know you'll be glad you tuned in!
Thanks again for listening, and thanks to Emma for sharing her thoughts on building and growing a successful food photography business.
I work with small businesses. I don't work with supermarkets or the very big companies because I love being able to coach my clients and help them maximize what they're doing on their social media, what they're going to do with their images, how they tie in all the colors of their branding. – Emma Dunham
That’s it for me this week; I hope everything is going well for you in life and business!
Thanks, and speak soon
Andrew
