Staying Socially Connected as We Age with Molly Wylie
How has your social network changed over the last few years? Many of us as we age begin experience life changes that often affects our social circle. For example, many of you listening right now may have gone to an office for work every day pre Covid. And whether you loved or hated that job, you interacted with the same group of people every day – but perhaps now you work from home, and only occasionally interact with some of those same people over Zoom, WebEx and Skype. Or maybe we’ve recently changed careers, or maybe we’ve recently retired. Many of us are now empty nesters. We’re becoming grandparents.
And many of us have slowed down as we’ve aged. We’ve let poor health, aches and pains, loss of energy and vitality prevent us from doing the things we loved to do when we were younger – and healthier – with our friends and family members.
So my question to you is – how do we stay connected in an increasingly disconnected world?
My guest today is Molly Wylie. Molly is a PhD candidate in gerontology and is the head of programming for Hank – a new digital platform for people over the age of 55 to help connect them with other people and activities in their communities.
Join us this week as Molly shares why it’s critical for us to remain socially connected and active as we age.
