Here I sat with the family at the end of a long productive day. The air still chilled from a brief cold front.

As the commercial completed its run for a split second, I asked a simple question. No words were returned on my behalf, only silence and the squeals of my grandson.
"Well, I guess I won't know the real answer," I thought.
A few minutes passed with the show already in progress. Shortly after my attention was grabbed by the next suspense, a small but commanding force was heard.
"No, Mom. That would not work."
Who would have thought my daughter finally answering the question ten or so minutes after it was asked?
What's the delay?
You and I get bombarded by "stuff". Our environments are slammed with distractions, highlight reels, and ungrateful people. How have we ever gotten to this point?
If you want to change where you are or the direction you're headed, you have got to change your environment.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Change your environment!Who would have thought changing what is comfortable actually moves you closer to what you needed to begin with?
Your dreams and goals can only be achieved and secured by intentional actions. Sitting by waiting for the one next thing only slows down your progress. Think about it. You get wrapped up in everything that isn't good and stay stuck in everything that delays your progress.
That's not fair to you or your dreams and goals. So it's time to change your environment.
- FOCUS - Work with what you have. You may not have everything in place for what you want to do or the best of what you think you should have. Focus on what you have.
- REARRANGE - You can create so many different looks with a handful of objects. So don't fret about what you can control. Take what you have a rearrange it to support your dreams and goals.
- EXECUTE - There is no time like the present. Why delay? You have only today. Tomorrow is not promised. So what are you waiting for?
Now don't give me any excuses. You can get done what you need to do because I just did.
With my mom and daughter in town, we got to work between the hours of 8:30 pm yesterday to 1:30 am today. Little did I know that with the amount of focus, we were able to rearrange my entire downstairs without spending a dime, only time.
And oh, does it feel great!!
But you see, I had been putting it off for months. However, I knew that in order to make some changes in other areas of my life, I needed to get this done for me.
So I asked that hard question, What's the delay? The key was to answer it honestly.
Well, nothing like mom and daughter to keep me grounded.
CHALLENGE: What can you do this week that you have been putting off?
- Maybe it's rearranging your office.
- Maybe it's paying bills because you just don't want to make time.
- Maybe it's cleaning out your closet so you can spring into the new season.
- Maybe it's organizing your family room where everyone hangs out.
You get to choose if you want to hold onto the delay or make a way.
