Episode 5 - Featuring interview with Bob Costas

Marchand and Ourand have broadcasting legend Bob Costas on the pod this week. Costas tells several entertaining stories about his illustrious career, including getting offered the time-slot behind David Letterman at CBS after Letterman left NBC, the time he told off an uninterested NFL star and sitting in the broadcast booth with Bob Uecker. Also on the pod, Marchand heaps praise on Jay Glazer while Ourand gives a shoutout to Fox’s Big Noon college football strategy. They discuss the Mannings’ effect on “Monday Night Football,” NBC’s decision to shut down its all-sports channel and they revisit their disagreement on whether Amazon will continue to be a big player in sports. Ourand paid homage to Red Sox announcer Jerry Remy during the “Calls of the Week” segment, while Marchand highlighted John Buccigross.
