Firass Dirani is a 'free thinker' not a fighter
Behind the class clown facade Firass Dirani is a deep and free thinker. Growing up Lebanese in the Western Suburbs of Sydney he developed a people pleasing persona to be liked instead of marginalized for being different, but if you look beyond his name, Firass says compassion and cultural understanding is the key to unlocking who he really is.
In this episode Jess Rowe sits down with the award winning actor as he recalls the hedonistic days of fame after Underbelly and the moment he told his partying friends it was all over. How a voice inside helped him see his life from a different perspective, and the decision to step back from the alcohol that once helped him navigate fame. Firass also reveals the staggering first pay cheque he received and why his mum thought he was holding it upside down, and despite ruffling feathers on SAS Australia, by staying true to his belief system and sticking to who he is he was able to uncover his greatest strength.
