Phebe Brako-Owusu, an award-winning Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, was born and raised in Ghana. She is licensed to see clients in Washington and Washington DC.

Her passion for helping immigrants build a home away from home led her into private practice in 2016, and in 2021 she founded 253 Therapy and Consult in University Place, WA to mentor the next generation of therapists.

Phebe specializes in working with adults, families, and couples dealing with work stress, trauma, and issues related to their immigrant identities. With a warm and compassionate approach, Phebe empowers her clients to heal, grow, and thrive.

In this episode, Phebe shares her journey as an immigrant in the mental health field and mental health care barriers. We also explore the topic of breaking cycles, setting boundaries with family, and finding one's identity between different cultures.
