In this conversation Shelley speaks with business leaders, Wayne about how he approached his first leadership position and the advice he now gives leaders making the transition. Prior to moving into a leadership position, he took part in leadership development training, and found it helpful when determining the difference between leading and managing and also when navigating the trickier conversations.
Wayne talks about adaptability and his focus on building key relationships across internal teams where he had a foundation of respect, openness, reliance and honesty. He truly believes in understanding the development needs of his people and what motivates them to come to work each day.
