Christoph von Toggenburg, CEO of World Vision Switzerland and Liechtenstein, reflects on his life journey. He was raised in Switzerland and was introduced to the challenges of the world by his medical doctor's parents who worked with disabled people. A life-changing event was a 2006 emergency mission to the Central African Republic, where he was almost killed in an assassination attempt. This reinforced his belief to help people in less fortunate situations. He initially worked as a painter and started Bike for Help, a cycling expedition from India to Switzerland to raise funds for leprosy. He has worked for big international organizations like the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and World Vision. As CEO of World Vision Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Christoph's role is to be a bridge builder between different worlds and bring different actors together to make a change. In January 2023, he visited Uganda and witnessed how World Vision is empowering communities and improving lives through its work.
