In this chapter of the Rwandan National Neonatal Protocol, Merab Nyishime will discuss discharge planning. She outlines the four assessments that should be made when deciding whether to discharge a patient, the danger signs that would prevent discharge, examples of infants that would require rendezvous after discharge, and how to model appropriate caregiver discharge counseling.
