Listen as Dr. Patrick Kochanek, outlines new developments appearing in the 3rd edition of “Guidelines for the Management of Severe Traumatic Brain Injury in Children”. He covers revisions made to level II and level III treatment recommendations, and how they translate across the companion algorithm. He focuses on neuroimaging, hyperosmolar therapy, analgesics and sedatives, seizure prophylaxis, temperature control/hypothermia, and nutrition. In addition, he highlights the new consensus and evidence based algorithm article that accompanies the new guidelines, for use at the bedside.
