Episode 37 - Cheating and Your Partner Having Friends of the Opposite Sex

In this episode Brian and Nicole discuss cheating in a relationship or marriage from both the male and female perspective.  They touch on trust, the impact on the family if the couple has children and the decision to stay or leave the relationship/marriage after finding out your partner has been unfaithful.  They also discuss whether it’s appropriate to have friends of the opposite sex when you’re in a long term relationship or marriage, and how any “best friend” needs from the opposite sex should be fulfilled by your partner.  They reflect on the concept of making friends as an adult and how the approach toward making new friends varies significantly between introverts and extroverts.  They also stress the importance of your partner truly being your best friend and how that friendship will help sustain the relationship/marriage through the challenging times that are sure to come as you do life together.  They take on the topic of “masking” in the dating world and at the beginning of a relationship, and how the term “choose better” is unfairly used in many situations.  Nicole discusses the current “Man of the Year” trend happening on social media, which exposes the dark side of how some men treat the women in their lives in private.  She also shares some advice for people looking for solid, loyal partners who are great parents: “Marry a Nerd!”
