In this episode, Ismael "Rey" Reyes shares his journey from a lifelong career in the United States Army where he served overseas in both Iraq and Afghanistan and eventually retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

He explains how he started investing while he was still overseas and set his business up to be able to go full-time real estate once he retired.

About Our Guest:

Rey has been actively investing in residential real estate since 2005 and has focused exclusively on multifamily since 2016, becoming a full-time investor in 2019.  He has led MI Real Estate in investing in five multifamily properties in Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee, totaling 292 units and valued at over $17 million dollars.  He also raised over 800k in capital in 2019.  Rey also provides independent consulting to real estate investors and has authored numerous multifamily investing articles.

Prior to becoming a full-time real estate investor, Rey served over 28-years in the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Rey received an MBA from Columbia Southern University in 2010, is fluent in Spanish and speaks some Portuguese.
