Vilification of Henry Kissinger

Henry Kissinger has been the subject of sustained vilification, with a clear anti-Semitic element, directed towards him for decades. The double standard applied to Kissinger is evident, as very few other secretaries of state have been subjected to this level of criticism. The criticism shifted from the right to the left over time, reflecting a broader contempt for American foreign policy. Christopher Hitchens' book, although lacking substance, has been widely embraced by those who already harbored animosity towards Kissinger and American foreign policy. It is noteworthy that the attacks on Kissinger often overshadow the tremendous challenges he faced in office, particularly when the United States was losing the Cold War. Despite this, he played a crucial role in strategically improving the country's position. Criticism of Kissinger, particularly at the time of his death, is questionable and fails to acknowledge his significant contributions and achievements.
