Randy King is a highly respected authority on conflict management and violence prevention. He has taught in 10 countries and over 60 cities, and his work has been featured in media outlets around the world. He is the president of 80:20 Conflict Management Strategies, a company that provides training and consultancy services in the field of conflict management and violence prevention. Randy is also an internationally recognized self-protection specialist who has been involved in martial arts for over 30 years.

Randy is a man with an interesting perspective. In 2002, his perspective and confidence were shattered when he survived a stabbing while attempting to deescalate a violent situation. This experience led him on a journey to understand human behavior.He soon realized that the old ways did not serve as a functional platform.

Randy has always been fascinated by conflict. What makes people tick? How does the mind work in high-stress, life or death situations? This quickly changed his desire for technical expertise into a hunger to demystify the psychology of violence through evidence-based research.

Combining his growing knowledge with practical experience, he built KPC Self Defense, a highly successful local gym that he carved out of Edmonton’s inner city. KPC’s mandate was to train and empower today’s most vulnerable members of society - working alongside at-risk youth, victims of abuse, and the general population
