"The Partner is the Mother" - Identifying the Mother Wound in Romantic Relationships

Mark Wolynn told me, "The Partner is the Mother," and it's one of the most profound sentences I've heard this year. Does this assertion track for you in your significant relationship? It sure does for me when I look back at my past partners. It was difficult to pinpoint at first, but now I see the similarities between the two and I know I have a large mother wound that I'm seeking to heal.
Today I discuss more about that quote and what it means in my life. I share what Mark Wolynn advised me to do to heal the wound, and my reaction to his words. I share a poignant meditation I did recently that revealed a shocking symbolic image that I'm still unpacking. It's embarassing, but I'm hoping someone out there can relate! Textbook codependency. (It's how I coped with my emotional neglect as a child, so I don't blame myself!)
