I'm 45 years old and about to do IVF. Is Gonal F 450 the right amount for me to take? (Ask The Egg Whisperer)

In this episode of Ask The Egg Whisperer, Alexandria from Greece sent in a question. Here's what she asked, "I'm 45 years old, and I'm about to start my first IVF cycle. I want to give it one try only. My doctor prescribed Gonal F 450 for the first four days. It sounds like a very high dose to me. I know that in some countries the maximum dose they give is 300. I've read that older eggs tend not to like such high doses of gonadotropin. Is this true? I would love to hear your opinion."
