The end of a gloomy January beckons, but despite the dark cold evenings, Producer Simon did the podcast proud by wrapping himself up and going to watch some Bundesliga football. Thankfully his team won, and he brings that joy as he reports on his footballing frisk.

Try as we might, we can’t aoid German politics, and there’s a lot of it flying around at the moment. We discuss Elon Musk’s giant head appearing on screens at the AfD conference, the destruction of the Brandmauer against the far-right in the Bundestag, and protests on the streets of various German cities as well as at the Brandenburg Tesla factory.

We finish things off this week with the mysterious story of a suitcase filled with €42,000 found by Deutsche Bahn employees in Schwandorf.
