Magnesium is an essential nutrient which is needed for over 300 biochemical reactions in the human body, contributing to a wide range of muscle and nerve functions, as well as building strong bones and regulating blood sugar. An adult human body contains around 25 grams of magnesium, which is mostly stored in the bones, muscles and nerve cells.
