swaddles, shoes, & shirts | how modern living is shaping our babies
this episode of the village sessions podcast opens up season 3! we catch-up on what’s been happening during our summer break & then deep dive into the unconscious programming that shapes how we live as a society—and how we are with our babies. we explore the “protective c- shape hold” often seen in infants as a reflection of a sympathetic-dominant nervous system, and how this mirrors the state of the mother & her environment.
we look back at what the industrial era ushered in—modern ways of living that pulled us further from our ancestral imprint—and how ancient cultures, over time, became “civilized” into disconnecting from their original ways of living (what we now consider resourcing). we expand on today’s “protection” programming, the way movement becomes one of the most heavily imprinted patterns in our bodies, & what happens when mothers consciously embody their movement.
through the lens of bowspring, we discuss becoming aware of how you show up in the world. we also highlight the unique opportunity for grandparents to reclaim vitality & quality of life when children show them the way.
this conversation is about the unfurling—of infants, of mothers, & of families—through awareness, embodied living, & the restoration of our natural design. join us for an endless summer vibe & the start of another podcast season.
surprise — we’ve also created a behind-the-scenes, stripped down version of our podcast called KITCHEN SESSIONS | join to dive deeper and linger longer with us.
