Stars: A Forgotten Band of the 70s and 80s

Stars, a band from Adelaide, South Australia formed in 1975, was known for their diverse range of music, from country rock to power rock anthems and beautiful ballads. Although not as well-known as some of their contemporaries, they gained popularity with their live shows and released two studio albums, 'Paradise' in 1977 and 'Land of Fortune' in 1979. Stars tragically disbanded in 1979, and a tribute concert was held in memory of their late guitarist Andy Durant, who passed away from cancer. They released a double live album from the concert and donated all proceeds to cancer research. In 2018, Stars reunited for a tour and released their final album, 'Boundary Rider'.
