25. Derek Lundsten - Entrepreneur and servant leader
This episode features Derek Lundsten. Derek is an entrepreneurial CEO at LifeGuides, a transformative platform for conscious leaders and values driven cultures, and Executive Chairman of Scrimmage, a modern mobile learning, development and training technology firm with a global footprint. He leads and supports dynamic growth businesses with a focus on serving all stakeholders, using business as a force for good in the world.
In this episode, listen to Derek share many useful job (and life) transition ideas:
· Sometimes, the best thing to do is just do something, because that first action leads us to a 2nd step, and then a 3rd step, and that is how you start your journey.
· You need to take charge of what your career is and what it is not, and then create an action plan to get you from where you are to where you want to be.
· Work is only one part of our lives – don’t let it rule you.
· Everyone has weaknesses – own yours and how to improve in that area.
· How you use your time and the focus of your energy in those time windows is a key separator for people.
· Health and well-being are a top priorities, but you must work on it – don’t think you can just let it happen.
For me, my key take-away was Derek talking about how we need to be able to sit in those moments of discomfort (during our transitions) for the benefit of our own growth. I hope you enjoy this episode of Derek Lundsten and share it with others who are going through a job or life transitions.
