If you’re active in the Man Flow Yoga Facebook Group, then there’s a good chance you know today’s guest, Joe. Joe is one of the most motivating and inspiring people to other Man Flow Yoga Members—he even inspires me at times.
But the truth is that Joe wasn’t always jacked and healthy. In fact, after his first daughter was born, Joe didn’t exercise for 15 to 20 years!
One day just four years ago, Joe didn’t like how he looked, how he felt, or the example of aging he was setting for his daughters. And so, he stumbled into a gym for the first time in decades.
Shortly after, COVID closed the world down—but Joe didn’t use this as an excuse to give up. Instead, he started doing yoga and went on to become one of the best examples for how men over 50 can use yoga to become jacked and healthy.

(4:13) As I was turning 50, I was just kind of unhappy. I didn't like the way I looked. I didn't like the way that I felt. And I knew I needed to make a course correction.
(5:57) My daughters are just amazing to me. And as their father, who had been a role model for them their whole life, I sat there thinking, “I need to do better for them. I need to show them a good example of aging with you know fitness and health in mind.”
(6:22) At some point in our lives, we're all going to have to rely on others to help us.
(10:34) The best thing about it is, and you allude to this sometimes, is that with yoga it's really kind of easy to see progress. If you are dedicated to it, you'll see the difference. And I saw it fairly quickly. And so it sort of became self -fulfilling: The more I did it, the more I wanted to do more.
(11:04) I mentioned earlier that I couldn't even get my hands past my knees, you know, and I think around the two month mark, I was able to get my hands back to the floor.
(19:15) The combination of yoga and lifting has really sustained me a lot. They're very symbiotic: The flexibility and mobility has helped me build strength and vice versa.
(29:15) The Man Flow Yoga community is just incredible. I mean, I belong to a couple of other groups online as well. And there's definitely something special and unique about the Man Flow Yoga group. I've never seen anything where people are more supportive than that than that group
(33:21) Just do it and build the habit. Then, it all falls in place.
