The Red Light Report

How Light Influences Overall Health via the Eye, Pt. 1

It's a new year, which means this is a perfect time to learn some groundbreaking, foundational information regarding light and the eye from the early- and mid-1900s. That's correct, I said "groundbreaking" and the 1900s in the same sentence!  Beginning on this week's episode of The Red Light Report, we are embarking on a three-part solosode series that will (likely) change the way you think about light, your eyes and their impact on your overall health and wellness... and, believe it or not, I am not talking about your eyesight or vision. In fact, what if I told you that vision was the second most important aspect of your eyes?

Ironically, the majority of the eye-opening research I will be citing during these episodes has been around for over fifty years -- and some, almost 100 years -- yet I can virtually guarantee that you have never heard this information before. It's curious how this all-important information about light and our eyes has been lying around in the archives of libraries and the annals of the internet for decades and decades, only to be ignored and/or never given the proper attention it sincerely deserves.... Hence, this three-part solosode series!   The book I will be referencing in these episodes is The Influence of Ocular Light Perception on Metabolism in Man and in Animal, by German researcher and ophthalmologist Fritz Hollwich. This guy was way before his time! In his book, Hollwich clearly demonstrates, through his and others research, the countless ways that light impacts health via our eye. Again, in this instance vision (or our "visual pathway") is not the key factor, as there is an alternate pathway that induces these physiological benefits; what Hollwich called an "energetic pathway."

I am excited to be presenting this information to you, as the first time I read this book and the research presented, it left my jaw on the ground and my socks knocked off. These episodes are going to be jam-packed with cutting-edge information that you will assuredly find paradigm-shifting and will undoubtedly cause you to pause and reconsider your light environment for your health's sake. Buckle up and enjoy! - On this solosode, Dr. Mike Belkowski discusses the following:
  • The profound effects sunlight has on our biology
  • How light is a primal element of life
  • An excerpt from Fritz Hollwich
  • How artificial light cannot replace sunlight
  • Grounding with the earth
  • How the earth’s electromagnetic field is nourishing to our bodies
  • The negative effects of fluorescent light
  • The energetic portion of the optic nerve
  • Light and the pineal gland
  • Symptoms that receded after sufficient exposure to sunlight
  • Our light environment and how it affects health conditions and diseases
  • Blindness and its effect on benefits from light
  • The third eye
  • Melatonin and how light stimulates it
  • Research done by Wimmer in 1856 on how light affects the blind
