Deep dives
The Future of Humanity
Humanity's future lies in regaining our humanity, rather than worrying about when robots will become human-like. The challenge lies in our inability to create algorithms that prevent robots from harming us, as we ourselves struggle to live together peacefully. We have lost touch with God's original intention for us, and we need to rediscover what it means to be human. God promises to give us an undivided heart, remove our heart of stone, and give us a heart of flesh. We need to reclaim our humanity and live out the dreams and visions that God has for us.
Living Beneath Our Intention
As humans, we often live beneath our intention. We struggle to live in authentic, meaningful communities and regularly neglect the nature of community. While other species naturally fulfill their purpose, we humans have a unique capacity to live without intention. Everything in the universe has intention, and it's time for us to reconnect to our purpose as human beings. We should strive to be fully human, living with intention and contributing to our communities and the world.
Imagination and the Future
Our imaginations are the playground where God can reveal His dreams and visions for us. We are designed to imagine and create. While science focuses on what can be proven and human ethics analyzes our actions, the human imagination is where God can reach us. God's imagination is where He envisions a better future for us, a future filled with love, compassion, and hope. We are called to live in God's imagination, creating a better world and becoming everything He has created us to be.
Living Out God's Dreams
We are living inside the dreams and visions of God. God imagined the universe, imagined humanity, and continues to dream about us. He wants to paint a picture of a new future, a new humanity, and a new world within us. Our role as followers of Jesus is not just to wait for God to create the future, but to actively participate in making His dreams a reality. We should be the change we want to see and become the future of humanity, reflecting the ideals of love, compassion, and hope.
In a powerful, thought-provoking message from Mosaic Conference in 2018, Pastor Erwin McManus casts vision for the future of humanity. Based on Ezekiel 36, he highlights the promise God has for us as we take on the future: that our hearts of stone will be replaced with hearts of flesh.
Pastor Erwin highlights that though at times he would rather have the heart of Iron Man instead of a heart of flesh, God doesn’t want to restore us to be hurt, but to bring us back to our original intent as humans, created with the imagination of God.
Because God imagined us into the future, we were made to create the future we dream of as well. In his message, Pastor Erwin states that we create from our essence. This is why it is essential to create from a heart of flesh. When God gives us a new heart, we can create from our original intent-from a heart filled with compassion, empathy and intelligence.
If you’ve been longing to create a future that right now you can only dream of, check out this amazing new message!
