Deep dives
Leslie Kane's Impact in the UFO Disclosure Movement
Leslie Kane, a journalist and author, has played a pivotal role in the UFO disclosure movement. Her groundbreaking articles, such as the 2017 New York Times piece and the 2023 Debrief article, shed light on secretive programs and claims of non-human craft. Her extensive work over the years has brought increased attention and credibility to the topic. Despite setbacks and uncertainty surrounding legislation like the Schumer Amendment, Kane remains optimistic about the progress made in recent years. She highlights the snowball effect of media coverage, congressional involvement, and whistleblowers coming forward. Regardless of the outcome of specific legislation, Kane believes that the momentum of the disclosure movement is unstoppable.
The Complexity and Challenges in UFO Media Coverage
Kane discusses the challenges faced in UFO media coverage and the reasons behind the hesitation of mainstream outlets. Stigma and influence from elements within the intelligence community play a role in shaping media narratives. The lack of official documentation or tangible proof often hinders reporting on topics like crash retrievals. However, Kane acknowledges that media coverage has improved since 2017, with intermittent bursts of increased interest. The passage of the Schumer Amendment and the potential declassification of documents may further engage mainstream media and lead to more extensive coverage.
Exploring Anomalous Phenomena: UFOs and the Afterlife
Kane's interest in UFOs led her to delve into the topic of the afterlife in her book 'Surviving Death' and subsequent docu-series. She attributes the shared fascination with UFOs and the afterlife to the exploration of anomalous phenomena and the broader questions they raise about consciousness and existence. Kane notes the interconnected nature of these subjects, emphasizing the power of consciousness and its potential influence on phenomena experienced. While initially approaching the afterlife separately, Kane recognizes the interconnections and discussions surrounding consciousness, near-death experiences, and experiences at places like Skinwalker Ranch. She highlights the importance of credible investigations and perspectives from various fields to further understanding in these areas.
The Potential Unifying and Divisive Nature of Anomalous Technology
Some people believe that the existence of anomalous technology could bring humanity together as a unified civilization, while others fear that it may lead to conflicts over its use and domination by those who possess it. The diverse viewpoints expressed at the Seoul conference highlight the importance of having open conversations and considering the various perspectives surrounding this issue in order to develop a more unified approach.
The Need to Include Experiences in the Disclosure Conversation
There is a growing recognition within the community that the current push for disclosure primarily focuses on craft, technology, and physical evidence, largely ignoring the personal experiences of individuals who claim to have interacted with non-human intelligences. While this omission may be understandable from a mainstream perspective, it is crucial to acknowledge and incorporate these experiences into the discussion. Efforts should be made to encourage further research, studies, and psychological investigations that explore the impact of these experiences on individuals' consciousness and well-being.
For today’s episode, I had the honor and the privilege of sitting down with someone who has been the driving force behind some of the most important breakthroughs in the UFO disclosure movement, journalist and author Leslie Kean.
Along with journalists Ralph Blumenthal and Helene Cooper, Kean is responsible for the now historic 2017 article in The New York Times entitled Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’: The Pentagon’s Mysterious U.F.O. Program that first revealed the existence of that program to the public. And in June of 2023, she teamed up with Ralph Blumenthal once again for another history-making piece in The Debrief about the stunning claims made by high-ranking intelligence official-turned-whistleblower. David Grusch, about the existence of secretive crash retrieval programs that are in possession of craft of non-human origin.
Later this week on December 9th, Leslie will be co-hosting the fourth meeting of the Inquiry Into Anomalous Experience and the Phenomenon conference series in New York City alongside organizer Jay Christopher King and James Iandoli. Speakers include Diana Walsh Pasulka, Tim Gallaudet, Michael Masters, Paul H. Smith, Peter Skafish, and Josh Cutchin. A surprise guest speaker was just announced, as well—pilot and Nimitz incident witness Alex Dietrich.
