This podcast explores how to train your brain for clarity, energy, and focus. It discusses breaking the cycle of negative thoughts and limited perception, reprogramming our thoughts, training our brain for neuroplasticity, and building a community for brain performance and development.
Our brains are programmed to operate on autopilot with bad habits, negative thoughts, and limiting beliefs, requiring us to reprogram our faulty programming to create the change we desire.
The Reticular Activating System (RAS) filters information based on our biases and intentions, limiting our perception of reality, but by expanding our awareness and challenging our biases, we can break free from our default limitations.
Deep dives
Reprogramming the Subconscious Mind
Our brains are programmed to behave in certain ways, leading to autopilot thoughts and actions. This programming extends to beliefs and perspectives. Due to this subconscious programming, we often find ourselves unable to create the change we desire. The first step in reprogramming is acknowledging that our brain and body are operating against us. We must be willing to be wrong and take ownership of our thoughts and feelings. By examining the meanings we attach to experiences, we can start reprogramming our faulty programming and create a new normal.
The Reticular Activating System
The Reticular Activating System (RAS) plays a crucial role in filtering information based on our biases and intentions. It brings our attention to information that aligns with our beliefs and perspectives. This filtering mechanism can create blind spots and limit our perception of reality. Understanding how the RAS works allows us to be aware of our biases and consciously choose the information we focus on. By expanding our awareness and challenging our biases, we can break free from the limitations of our default reality.
Neuroplasticity and Environment
Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to rewire itself through new experiences and stimuli. By introducing novelty into our lives and environments, we stimulate neuroplasticity, enabling our brains to make new connections. Designing our environment to support change is crucial. Small changes, like charging our phone in another room, can have profound effects on our behaviors. Additionally, the people we surround ourselves with influence our programming. Mirror neurons allow us to pick up behaviors and attitudes from others. Being mindful of our environment and choosing supportive communities can aid in our journey of reprogramming and personal growth.
In this week’s episode, I talk about how to train your brain to operate at higher levels of clarity, energy and focus.
We'll be covering: 1. How your brain gets programmed to operate bad habits, negative thoughts and limiting beliefs on autopilot 2. The secret to training your brain to see the opportunities and solutions you need 3. One easy strategy to create better habits and behavior change
