The Standing Meditation and Finding Daoism with Nate Rifkin

Daoism stands alongside Confucianism as one of the two great religious and philosophical systems of China. Daoism teaches us how to seek balance and live in harmony with the world. The word, dao, itself means “the way”, the pattern and substance of everything that exists.

Our guest today is Nate Rifkin; when Nate began his journey, he felt broken and a sense of hate for himself. He was suicidal and drank alcohol every morning. He dropped out of college, went broke, bankrupt, and even worked on street corners as a sign spinner.

Along the way a teacher introduced Nate to a little-known spiritual discipline that helped him transform his thoughts, emotions, and financial life. This practice from the Daoist mystical tradition, called the standing meditation, even helped him find love.

In a moment of pure spiritual awakening, while in the midst of meditation, Nate felt his body begin to glow like the sun. Today, Nate is sharing that practice with us, and how he found his way into devoting his life to the standing meditation.

We talk prana, chi and working with the life force energy. Nate guides into how to truly feel chi through a simple deep breathing practice we can do anytime and anywhere.
