It is normal and natural to want help, support, love, kindness, and ease. The trouble arises when we want to be "rescued", often subconsciously, from the struggles of life. This can be a response to the trauma of not getting our needs met as children. Sometimes this is deliberate, and sometimes it is just because parents and caregivers have nothing left to give. Either way, it can leave us wanting.
