The museum focuses on fostering intergenerational activity and learning through active play. Inspired by educators like Pestalozzi and Montessori, the museum encourages hands-on interaction with diverse objects and spaces designed to spark creativity and engagement.
Innovative Spaces and Play-based Learning at Young V&A
The museum features three galleries, Imagine, Play, and Design, each offering unique ways to engage with the collection. The museum provides opportunities for collaborative play, imaginative exploration, and active learning. The museum's design encourages intergenerational play and active engagement.
Incorporating Technology and Game Design at Young V&A
While embracing gameplay mechanics and interactive elements, Young V&A aims to strike a balance between free play and structured engagement. The Arcade offers game design experiences, inviting visitors to create and modify games, fostering critical engagement with gameplay. By incorporating elements like Minecraft reconstructions and gameplay discussions, the museum encourages diverse forms of play and learning.
