The Story You Tell Is the One That Grows: Rewrite Your Story Series

As we close out ADHD Awareness Month and our "Rewrite Your Story" series, I want to remind you of something important: the story you tell yourself is the one your brain learns by heart!

Your brain can learn new pathways, which means you can practice a new story- even when the old story tries to creep back in! You are NOT your mistakes. You are not too much and you are definitely not broken! For kids with ADHD, old stories like, "I can't,""I always mess up," or "I'm too much" can feel really loud and familiar. So let's continue to practice telling ourselves a different story.

In this episode, we talk about neuroplasticity in a kid friendly way, creating simple family habits to reinforce new stories, and what to do when those old story's come back, because let's face it...they probably will at some point and we want to be prepared!!

Let's continue to practice pausing, notice the old story, and choose a new one! Let's make the story we tell ourselves be the one worth knowing and living out! Because every day is a gift! You are loved, valued, and capable of anything you set your heart and mind to!
