The Power of Psychedelics for Society
Psychedelics have the potential to benefit society as a whole, and extensive research supports their safety and efficacy. Despite the lingering stigma and resistance from certain interest groups, the increasing accessibility of psychedelics presents an opportunity for widespread personal healing, growth, and the optimization of human potential. Different approaches, such as the medical path, decriminalization movements, and the establishment of psychedelic churches, are working towards making psychedelics more accessible. The ongoing phase shift in humanity's values, emphasizing community, abundance, and a more meaningful life, is further propelling the positive movement of psychedelics.
Matt Zeeman's Journey into Psychedelics
Matt Zeeman, an experienced business professional, delved into the world of psychedelics after a transformative magic mushroom experience. This personal journey led him to pursue a master's degree in psychology and neuroscience, exploring the therapeutic potential and mechanisms of psychedelics. Through his entrepreneurial ventures and involvement in the psychedelic space, Matt aims to bridge the gap between psychedelics and the general public, promoting informed decision-making and the realization that psychedelics are not suitable for everyone. His work involves creating directories of psychedelic-friendly practitioners, publishing informative content, and establishing accessible telemedicine platforms for ketamine-assisted therapy.
Building Trust and Community in the Psychedelic Space
Matt Zeeman believes that trust is crucial in the psychedelic space, mirroring the importance of trust in a transformative psychedelic experience. Through his work, he aims to cultivate trust by ensuring the safety and integrity of ceremonies and their practitioners. Matt emphasizes thorough preparation processes, medical intake reviews, and post-ceremony integration strategies. He also seeks to build trust within his entrepreneurial endeavors, fostering open communication and a commitment to the growth and well-being of the team and consumers. By aligning the values of a business with the core principles of psychedelics, Matt believes that long-lasting positive impact can be achieved.
The Happy Vision: Longitudinal Support and Holistic Approach
With his new venture, Happy, Matt Zeeman envisions a telehealth platform for ketamine-assisted therapy that combines medical expertise with ceremonial components and ongoing digital therapeutics. Happy aims to provide support beyond individual ketamine experiences, offering a holistic approach grounded in the principles of bio-psycho-social-spiritual well-being. Through live music, nurturing food, and ceremonial practices, Happy seeks to create transformative spaces that prioritize personal growth and integration. By integrating longitudinal support and prioritizing the learning, healing, and growth of individuals, Happy aims to help people explore the full potential of ketamine-assisted therapy in a safe and nurturing environment.
Hosting Meaningful Ceremonies for Transformation
Matt Zeeman organizes and facilitates psychedelic ceremonies with the intention of creating safe and transformative spaces. These ceremonies center around communing with a higher power and involve careful attention to the physical environment, experienced ceremonial leaders, medical oversight, nurturing food, live music, and integration processes. Matt focuses on building trust and ensuring that the container for the ceremony is supportive and conducive to personal growth. By holding space for individuals on their journey with psychedelics, Matt helps provide opportunities for deep healing and connection, encouraging participants to bring intention and mindfulness to their experiences.
Since 2019, Matt has evolved from someone who had never taken any drugs to doing a deep dive into the study of human consciousness, aided by psilocybin, ayahuasca, ketamine, LSD, MDMA, DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, and more. Matt is now CEO and Co-Founder of HAPPŸŸ, a mental wellness company specializing in psychedelic-assisted oral ketamine therapy, as well as digital therapeutics that promote transformational outcomes. Previously, Matt was the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Psychable, an online community connecting people interested in the healing power of psychedelics with a network of practitioners and psychedelic-based treatments. He was also the co-founder of Take2Minutes, a nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health and wellbeing. Matt lives in Chapel Hill, NC.
