Raymond Lam (@theotherraymond) is an investment coach and restaurant tech consultant. He has helped numerous restaurants upgrade and adapt their business to the ever-changing landscape over the past several years. He also coaches people with their financial investments, teaching them everything he learned the hard way.
I put out a message on my Instagram if any of my followers wanted to do a podcast, just for fun. Raymond sent me a message, and I’m so happy he did. It turned into an amazing conversation on investing and fitness, and how so many of the same basic principles apply to both disciplines. You truly can learn something from everyone you meet, if you take the time to have a conversation and listen.
Raymond spoke about the first thing he teaches people when it comes to investing, and that is how to develop the correct mindset. There is no secret formula. But given the right awareness, attitude, patience, and discipline, ANYONE can be successful. Sound familiar? That’s because fitness is exactly the same. No shortcuts, but if you do the right thing, you WILL win.
We also spoke a fair bit about the differences between chasing short term wins via trading, or as Raymond says “gambling” vs investing and holding. Neither is right or wrong, they are just different tools, for different people, with different positive and negative consequences.
Of course, no investing talk can be complete without a few notes on cryptocurrency, so we spoke about that a bit as well. Also in relation to revolutionary ideas and things that change the world.
