There are times you don't know if you are coming or going. And it's all you can do to stay above water. Just get through the day.
As I watch the Olympic athletes compete, I'm reminded how many times they failed in order to get to where they are right now.
There was a skier who had a mishap with a metal object left on the course. Now I don't know all the details, but what happened was she was allowed to "repeat" her run.
However, is there really ever a repeat in life?
No, there isn't. You can't redo what happened. There will always be some part of the story that will be different and can change the outcome.
The skier's concern was even though she was not a medal contender, she still worked just as hard to be where she was today.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Unmask your dream!This gal to me is one who took her dream to heart. She didn't look side-to-side wondering what every other skier was doing. She wanted to run her race on her merits, with her skills.
So she started by training hard and putting in the time. That was the beginning of how she began to unmask her dream.
Sometimes I think we are looking for a do-over. We are in search of what might seem easier in the moment and might be to our advantage.
But is it really?
What is your reason for holding back on your dream?
- Is it somebody?
- Is it finances?
- Is it location?
- Is it certifications?
- Is it time?
- Is it confidence or lack thereof?
Why is it that you are unwilling to unmask your dream?
Because I want to challenge you today. Your dream was put within you, because your dream needs you. If someone else fulfills your dream, it won't be the same.
Go back to the skier. She had one shot to do what she trained her whole life for. But instead of having the one shot, she faced adversity saying she's got to repeat exactly with the same effort, same energy, same momentum, and run the race again.
Do you think it was the same the second time around?
No!
So why wait for a second time for you?
Unmask your dream. Go for the gold! Don't settle for someone else's second-best or ride on the tails of those you think will get you to where you want to go.
This is your time to shine.
