Each year hundreds of students graduate from a fine arts school in the Netherlands. But what exactly does it mean to be a ‘professional artist’? And what role does the art academy itself play in establishing and upholding this profession? 

In the podcast series Art School(ed) writer and researcher Huib Haye van der Werf gives voice to students from several art academies across the Netherlands. The episodes reveal the realities of art education today, as well as what it could be in the future.
