You could call them all the perks of a marriage, whether good or bad, depending upon the moment.
But too quickly we get cozy with what seemed to be a dynamic, dynamite attraction where all we do now is ole humbug of routines.
What happened to the spark? Did it just die down? Or was it more of a choice over one thing versus another person?
Most of us live with good intentions. But because of our lifestyle, we tend to forget what's most important.
The people. Relationships. Your marriage!
So how do you choose each other when everyone else is clamoring for your attention?
Your commitment must shout louder than the voices of those around you.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Shout louder than the voices around you!Your commitment to each other must be a priority. And this can only be met if you shout louder than the voices around you.
- Minimize distractions. You can't let everything else get in the way of what you need as a couple.
- Set clear boundaries. For the season of life that you are in as a couple, you have to agree on what can and cannot be done. The commitment is not to everything else, but to what you and your spouse need as a couple.
- Make time always. Life happens. So don't let your marriage become part of the excuse; I just don't have time. You make time for what matters. That means you have to be willing to make time always for each other.
Choose each other.
