Are Mobile Interstitials Acceptable in 2021?

In this episode, we talked about mobile interstitials or what we often call popups which in 2016 was tagged as a negative ranking factor. But Google’s John Mueller recently announced some updates regarding the use of interstitials. Is it now acceptable? We discussed what changed and how to use it without affecting rankings.
