If a comedian makes a joke and someone laughs, that joke was funny, even if you're not the one laughing. 

We are in a golden age for comedy, and it's not because people are funnier than ever, it's because people are so much easier to make fun of than ever. The absurdities around what offends people in 2023 has made benign topics taboo, and the taboo will always bring about a bigger cackle than "safe" content that doesn't offend anyone. 

The general rule is as long as you make fun of everyone, including yourself, then your material is fair game. So why are people so offended these days?
