Monica Morales is a six-time Emmy Award-winning reporter for PIX11 News in New York City where she has covered all forms of breaking news. In the last several years she has been a voice for social justice with her “Monica Makes It Happen” show on WPIX and on the PIX11 Facebook page. Since 2016, Monica has visited more than 200 housing developments where she has fixed hundreds of homes and helped restore the heat, hot water, and/or gas to more than 75 buildings. She’s also the recipient of numerous accolades including Ellis Island Medal of Freedom and was named one of El Diario Nueva York’s 2022 Latinas of Distinction for her work in the Hispanic community. Her Ted Talk in 2020 on how “Moms Make It Happen” focused on the women in communities who are champions of change.
