We continue the conversation with educator C. Derek Varn, discussing mental health issues among young students.

We explore how the right-wing offers an appealing form of empowerment & agency around the idea/myth of meritocracy. We discuss survivorship bias, the problems with self flattery and how using politics as a form of community is a mistake.

We talk about school grades as bias and why we see such callousness with teachers and healthcare professions and the virtues of the current generation.

Varn highlights the trauma of active shooter drills, how gun control can only work with other social supports in place and the need for Universal Basic Services.

We close by returning to the idea of self-help and the need for a holistic "self-help/community-help" movement.
