Yellowdig is a company that provides active learning solutions for educational institutions. They aim to help students be more engaged and retain more of the knowledge they study by integrating interactive and collaborative learning tools into the classroom. These tools include discussion boards, peer-to-peer interactions and simulations. Using these tools, students can actively participate in the learning process, leading to a deeper understanding and retention of the material.
According to Roy, active learning is crucial for moving information from short-term memory to long-term memory. He states that students can connect and establish a deeper understanding of the material by actively engaging with the material through discussion, experimentation, and reflection. This deeper understanding allows the information to be transferred from short-term to long-term memory, making it more likely for the student to retain the information in the long run. And with their platform, they offer many ways to keep the students engaged and interactive during their studies.
