Episode 65: Joshua Macias: Can Veterans Be Made Whole Again?
This week, The Feds podcast is joined by Joshua Macias, Navy veteran and founder of three organizations advocating for veteran needs, including housing. We discuss the ongoing epidemic of veteran PTSD (or, rather, PTSI as he explains), suicide, and homelessness. Joshua talks about the contract between veterans and America, and how it has not been fulfilled. He hones in on the sense of betrayal that veterans and average American citizens may feel. Healing from these traumas, whatever form they may take, is achievable, and is the mission of Joshua and his organizations.
Following his honorable discharge from the Navy in 2002, Joshua had the same experience as many Veterans – he was a hardworking Veteran with a strong résumé, but no job. Now, as an expert in business systems, IT & Housing, Joshua founded END27 a Collaborative Non-Profit Program; On Your Six Foundation & Veterans For America First, a 501c4 grassroots advocacy network; and NetZero For Heroes, a For-Profit housing development company.
